Gulf Coast Testing’s core values are quality, professionalism, reliability and impartiality. They are the foundation of how we test and certify residential wastewater treatment systems and equipment.
Accredited
GCT is accredited by ANAB (ANSI National Accreditation Board) as a product certification body, and our quality system is written to ISO/IEC 17065 and ISO/IEC 17025.
Impartial
As a certification body, GCT does not design, manufacture, install, sell or consult on the products we certify. Our role is to test and evaluate each product against the applicable NSF/ANSI standard and to make an impartial certification decision based on the results.
A residential test site
Our test site is located entirely inside a residential neighborhood of approximately 450 homes, with no industrial or commercial waste. Products are tested on a predictable source of household influent without the need for any pretreatment that may or may not filter out undesirable toxics, which gives our clients more reliable test results.
GCT’s test site is located in Prairieville, Louisiana, inside a residential neighborhood of approximately 450 homes. The property is completely enclosed by a 10-foot privacy fence for security, and GCT’s office is located at the test site.
Influent
Raw wastewater from the neighborhood flows to an influent wet well that serves only the neighborhood. A dual grinder pump system, which provides redundancy in our operations, pumps the wastewater from the wet well to an influent tank at the test facility.
Dosing
The GCT dosing system is computer driven. Dosing pumps in the influent tank feed the raw influent through a manifold and valve system to each unit under test in five-gallon increments until the correct dose required by the Standard is delivered. The entire valve system is operated by four Siemens controllers for accuracy and reliability.
Equipment evaluations
GCT also performs all equipment evaluations under NSF/ANSI Standard 46 and NSF/ANSI Standard 385 at the Prairieville test site.
Quality Management
GCT operates a documented quality system written to ISO/IEC 17065 and ISO/IEC 17025. The GCT Program Manager has defined and documented GCT’s quality policy and objectives, which are set out in the Quality Manual, and ensures the policy is understood, implemented and maintained at every level of the operation. The procedures and instructions of the quality system are available to all personnel in print and on the GCT server.
Quality Documents
Quality Procedures and Quality Forms
GCT’s Quality Procedures put the Quality Manual into practice for each activity GCT performs.
